What to do when someone corrects your pronunciation

Some strategies for educating people about linguistics

As someone who talks about language on the internet and whose audience is mostly language nerds, people love to correct my pronunciation—but not always for good reasons! Here are some strategies I’ve discovered over the years for what to do when someone corrects your pronunciation of a word, and how you can educate them a little about linguistics while they’re at it!
